A Discussion of Details
Katie and Joe’s Gulf Coast wedding at the historic Bay Preserve at Osprey located on Little Sarasota Bay incorporated rustic elegance with a pop of color.
Our Tailored Twig design team worked with a very light, organic color story and designed hand detailed elements with texture and intent.
The Bay Preserve at Osprey is part of the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast and the feel of the nature preserve helped blend all of the design elements. We created a picked from the fields vibe with kumquats added as a design element for a pop of color.
Joe’s boutonniere combined stark black privett berries, balanced against the bright orange of a single kumquat with stems of white veronica that were still closed to add a unique more masculine feel.
Katie’s beautiful bridal bouquet incorporated softer variegated shades of green such as silver eucalyptus, snapdragon buds, veronica and Queen Anne’s lace. These green elements with touches of white moved into bolder white floral specimens with brilliant white peonies, white garden roses and white ranunculus, with the addition of the orange kumquats drawing your eye in.
The loose organic feel of Katie’s bridal bouquet was the perfect accessory to her modern lace applique wedding gown.
The tented wedding reception that followed the ceremony continued the elegant rustic design elements with a matte finish linen on an earthy grey tone, dark wooden French country chairs and wood block table numbers.
Low centerpieces in copper tone vessels were balanced against tall white risers, each continuing the natural green and white color story with the pops of orange kumquats. The arrangements, which alternate from table to table, brought in pepperberry greens, white campanula, privette berries, white spray roses and creamy vendela roses to add depth and
Katie and Joe’s simple three-tiered white combed buttercream wedding cake continued the color story with several brilliant clusters of kumquats.
Congratulations Katie and Joe, it was our pleasure to be part of your wedding day.

Being part of an editorial photo shoot at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Miami – Coral Gables offered our Tailored Twig design team a breathtaking canvas to design décor for two incredibly different design stories.
This spectacular luxury hotel built in 1926 combines elements of classic Italian, Moorish and Spanish architectural elements and each of the design concepts worked with the unique spaces.
The first design utilized an open-air garden setting with tall plaster columns and walls in shades of green with tropical palms to create a reception space with a fresh bright look.
A series of long tables were draped with a sunny yellow linen, gold metal wire risers were filled with an abundance of white and creamy ivory roses, white snapdragons, thistle, pampas grass, green apple anthurium, Italian ruscus and enormous philodendron leaves. The reception décor was set against shades of vintage greens in this historic hotel and created a fresh and timeless feeling.
The second design concept incorporated the brilliant colors of a South Asian wedding that played against the resorts decorative details to create some stunning images.
Brightly colored draping framed the space and set the tone for one of a kind tablescapes. Long guest tables were draped in a waterfall of color with Indian inspired linen in a variety of patterns and textures.
The guest tables were layered with gold rimmed china and goblets, gold glass votive candle holders and collections of uniquely shaped gold vessels. These items added a reflective metallic elements and helped ground the collections of brightly colored flowers.
Hand tailored collections of flowers included brilliantly colored roses in velvet wine, blueberry, burning orange, orange and exotic high yellow created a dramatic attention-grabbing look.
Pincushion protea in orange and yellow, safari sunset leucadendron, thistle and fiddlehead fern shoots added interesting textural elements. Clear acrylic ghost chairs were the perfect pairing to allow the table design to be the focal point.
This show stopping hanging wedding cake adorned with roses and orchids was supported by an incredible organic structure of banyan root, curly willow with bursts of color, and upright red amaranthus.
Our Tailored Twig always enjoys working on out of the box creations showcasing color, texture and unique botanical specimens; and working with amazing wedding professionals.

Our Tailored Twig design team was part of an editorial collaboration showcasing CAVU, a Tampa Heights flexible event venue.
CAVU is part of a growing number of industrial event spaces located just outside of downtown Tampa. The exposed brick, polished concrete floors, vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and storefront windows of the historic 1920’s automobile showroom blended beautifully with the chic, California inspired bohemian vibe for this collaboration.
The flexible event space allowed our team to utilize the open spaces with white walls and natural wood tones as a neutral canvass for an organic ceremony décor.
Light colored wooden church pews created an extra wide aisle that was accented with a series of three copper toned vessels on each side of the aisle. The vessels increased in size as they lead you to the ceremony structure.
The vessels overflowed with textural creations of air plants, white roses, snowberries, fringed white tulips and dusty miller.
The unique copper wedding structure formed in the shape of a home was adorned with a asymmetric covering of botanicals. The white, soft green and grey color story was continued in these stunning arrangements. Each contained a brilliant pop of orange amaryllis and the texture of the agonis branches were added to draw in the eye.
A lounge area was created to enhance the space to be used for a cocktail reception. Set against a background of brick, exposed wiring and vintage garden structures; the mixture of vintage leather seating, unique spindled wooden chairs, woven and fur throws created cozy, comfortable seating.
A coffee table arrangement of green trick dianthus, curly willow branches, dusty miller, snowberries, dreamy white breanthus and a touch of orange amaryllis in an industrial metal urn accented the lounge space.
Our Tailored Twig design team took full advantage of the natural light streaming in through the showroom windows. The direct lighting of the larger windows paired with the filtered light of the smaller transom windows added depth to the tablescape.
We worked against the backdrop of a wall filled with carriage lanterns and exposed wood. The tablescape included long organic wood bench seating, vintage chartreuse curved back chairs and antique wooden dining table.
The dramatic tablescape combined unique geometric vessels in organic, rustic and polished materials, taper candles in wrought iron candlesticks blended with air plants, white bouvardia, ranunculus, white fringed tulips, green trick dianthus, David Austin garden roses, snow berries and warm orange colored amaryllis plants.
Layered place settings with orange satin knotted napkins, custom menu cards and copper toned flatware completed the eclectic bohemian wedding design.

This past fall Tailored Twig had the pleasure of working with Sonia and LJ on their timeless and classic wedding at the amazing Vinoy Renaissance Hotel in downtown St Petersburg.
Sonia and LJ wanted to incorporate family into their wedding with a classic refined look. Using a color palate of rose gold, blush, cream and gold, our design team was able to create a look that would be timeless when the couple looked back on their wedding photographs.
Sonia’s beautiful hand tailored bridal bouquet consisted of white garden roses, white ranunculus, white peonies and eskimo roses with soft pink senorita and quicksand roses peeking out.
The handtied bridal bouquet was wrapped with a soft white textured ribbon. Tied to Sonia’s bouquet were two medallions that belonged to her grandparents who are no longer with us. Her grandmother and grandfather had gifted the medallions to each other on their 50th wedding anniversary.
Another sentimental accessory was her earrings, Sonia wore the earrings her father gifted her mother on their wedding day.
After their wedding ceremony at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor, the couple and their guests returned to the Vinoy Renaissance for a night of dinner and dancing.
The historic hotel is located on the Bayfront in downtown St Petersburg. This Mediterranean Revival hotel that originally opened in 1925 had the classic, timeless beauty the couple was looking for in their wedding design.
The wedding reception was hosted in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom with beautiful period detailing and a stunning Chihuly chandelier.
The couple sat at a sweetheart table inside a feature frame of thick, lush florals with hanging glass candle orbs. The frame was adorned with antique and white hydrangea, garden roses in pale blush and white as well as white ranunculus, ivory spray roses and seeded eucalyptus.
The tables for 250 wedding guests alternated between arrangements on tall gold and glass risers and low collections of flowers in gold mercury glass vessels. All of the arrangements included the same colors and specimen flowers found in the couple’s sweetheart table structure. Gold chivari ballroom chairs and soft gold lighting competed this stunning design.
The final design element was the thick cascade of flowers flowing down the couple’s five-tiered buttercream wedding cake. The quicksand and senorita roses added a warm glow to the cake and the addition of white freesia brought in a beautiful scent and texture.
Congratulations Sonia and LJ, we are glad you loved this classic floral design as much as our Tailored Twig design team enjoyed creating it.

Not too long ago our Tailored Twig design team had the opportunity to partner with some of our wedding colleagues in Sarasota to create a styled shoot for The Art Ovation Hotel, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection.
This luxurious new hotel which recently opened in downtown Sarasota required hand tailored décor elements as unique as the hotel. The hotel features local artists working in an onsite studio, exhibits of local artwork and you will also find sketchpads and colored pencils in each guest room.
The styled wedding shoot featured a modern vibe in shades of yellow with touches of blue, lots of signature Tailored Twig textural elements and a touch of rustic charm.
A unique triangular ceremony structure was elegant in its simplicity. A simple wooden structure studded with clusters of French tulips, yellow roses, campanula garden roses, astrantia and greenery.
The brides bouquet was an explosion of color with huge full campanula garden roses, blue thistle, astrantia and brilliant, uniquely shaped gloriosa lilies. Tulip magnolia branches extended from this hand tailored creation to add dimension and interest.
The groom’s boutonnière complimented the bridal bouquet with a gloriosa lily, air plant and brilliant round craspedia.
The reception décor was created under a fabulous round ceiling treatment with cylindrical hanging lights. The rustic wooden table was paired with bench seating topped with lush fabric throws and accent pillows as well as modern metal chairs.
The tablescape was a blending of organic and structural elements. The vessels of bone imported from Africa overflowed with collections of color blocked botanicals and colorful creations which included pin cushion protea, ornamental kale, burnt banksia, white hypericum berries and budding branches.
Mixing these creations with ornate gold picture frames, small metallic urns of blooms and rustic yellow plates topped with dark napkins, a single French tulip bloom next to an artist paint brush added a rustic touch with personalization and fun.
Our Tailored Twig design team is thrilled to have been part of the creation of this styled shoot.

Our Tailored Twig team cannot say enough nice things about Sasha and Wade, their wedding and the village it took to bring their Tampa wedding to life.
Sasha’s vision to have a wedding that struck a note with every sense was truly accomplished.
They wanted a day that was warm and romantic with cozy refinement and the deep rich tones of their décor surely brought every detail together.
The bride’s exquisite hand tailored bridal bouquet was a lush cascade of color and texture featuring cranberry red peonies, Lily of the Valley, rich burgundy cymbidium orchids, privet berry, burgundy dahlias, Ester light pink roses, tiny Blushing Bride protea, eucalyptus and deep red hanging amaranthus. A striking compliment to Sasha’s fit and flare gown of delicate ivory lace and cathedral length veil.
The entrance to the red brick church welcomed guests with a trellis of lush garland, studded with King Protea, touches of burgundy and wispy pink spray roses and darker pink Lady Katherine roses.
The couple’s wedding ceremony inside the ornately adorned Greek Orthodox church with its murals, gold trim and stained glass only needed a few delicate understated floral touches.
The aisle of the church was covered in a blanket of white and ivory cream rose petals with small hand tied bouquets of botanicals on the softer side of the color palette and a delicate garland with touches of tiny white blossoms framing the couple on the altar.
Tampa’s historic Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club hosted Sasha and Wade’s wedding reception. Deep rich florals blended with soft creams, whites and pinks as well as gold accents and a touch of shimmer created that warm cozy feel.
A round entry table held family photographs under a tree of lush greenery enveloped in a wide cascading flow of tightly packed roses; beginning in pink growing gradually lighter, ending in stark white.
The ballroom contained tall gold risers overflowing with thick greenery, deep burgundy dahlias with the texture of King Protea adding stark contrast to the soft color and texture of cream, pink and blush roses. These tall risers sat atop tables which were covered in a unique swirled marbled linen.
Other guest tables were dressed in dark textural linen with a bed of florals at the base of a simple gold candelabra while others held clusters of unique gold vessels bursting with several varieties of eucalyptus, huge King Protea, touches of burgundy, soft garden roses and wax flower.
Sasha and Wade were seated at a sweetheart table in the center of the space with a luxurious living wall of trees as its backdrop. The semicircular table shimmered with sparkling linen that was draped in a rope of garland, with dusty miller and clusters of burgundy, pink and cream
One of the most amazing focal points of the wedding reception would have to be Sasha and Wade’s breathtaking wedding cake.
Each layer of the five-tiered wedding cake had a unique texture and gold ornamentation. This stunning cake rested on a clear glass table with a few simple burgundy blooms. The glass table hovered over a magnificent bed of greenery, accents of pink, and cream roses and a cascade of deep burgundy amaranthus.
We are thrilled with Sasha’s kind words and know they sum up our floral creations.
The flowers were my favorite detail. My florist used a wide variety of flowers! I loved the mixture of King Protea's, roses, red Amaranthus, and varied wintery/fall greens. The importance of flowers and cohesive design of the entire day was incredibly important to me
Congratulations Sasha and Wade!

Michelle and Ben’s wedding had the type of floral details that our Tailored Twig design Team adores; this wedding has all the feels and we are sure you will feel the same way.
Their day began with a Tampa wedding ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in downtown Tampa.
Michelle wore a magnificent mermaid wedding gown with full train and lace bustier style bodice encrusted with crystals by Israeli couture wedding gown designer Inbal Dror.
Her cascading bridal bouquet of white phalaenopsis orchids, white peonies, and pink garden roses was embellished with a gold crucifix and the perfect complement to her incredible veil and gown.
Ben wore a Salvatore Ferragamo tuxedo; complimented with a single white phalaenopsis orchid with a silver wrapped stem.
After the Tampa wedding ceremony, the couple and their wedding guests made their way to their beautiful Ritz Carlton Sarasota for the wedding reception.
The luxurious ballroom design was a unique collection of tablescapes. Round guest tables draped in soft pink linen held tell glass vessels with floral pieces in shades of soft pink, white and cream. The florals included pink hydrangea, pink garden roses, cream spray roses, garden roses and extra-long stems of phalaenopsis orchids with shimmering strands of crystals.
These tables opened into a space with a stunning six-tiered wedding cake seated on several dozen stems of beautiful white orchids.
The length of the ballroom was filled by a long, rectangular glass table surrounded by Ornate Belle ghost chairs. The table was anchored with glass candelabras with hanging crystals.
Between the candelabras were a series of round footed vessels with domes of blush and white botanicals surrounded by mercury glass votive candles. A long rope of grapevine intertwined with orchid stems and hanging glass bubbles with votive candles floated above the guest’s heads.
The spectacular focal point of the wedding was Michelle and Ben’s incredible sweetheart table! The couple dined at an antique mirror dining table, seated on an elegant vintage lovebird settee.
An immense, lush canopy of flowers enveloped the couple. A thick blanket of hydrangea, garden roses, peonies, ginestra, limonium, ranunculus and orchids in a soft palette of pink, cream and white. Hanging crystals and clear glass bubbles with floating candles sparkled over the couple’s heads.
This breathtaking wedding design mixing organic, metallic and glass elements with a soft elegant color scheme truly set the perfect backdrop for this elegant Ritz Carlton wedding reception.
We wish Michelle and Ben a lifetime as spectacular as your wedding day!

Several weeks ago our Tailored Twig team shared a behind the scenes look called Swing From The Chandelier . We showcased how we constructed two five foot floral chandeliers for an upcoming wedding at the Armature Works.
We decided to continue that spectacular wedding story.
Lauren and Grymes’ wedding day began at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa. The breathtaking Romanesque style church ,built over a century ago is a combination of granite and white marble with seventy stained glass windows.
Our Tailored Twig design team marked the entrance with collections of floral creations on either side of the aisle. Towering gold toned vessels overflowed with botanicals in shades of pink and deep burgundy.
Immense King Protea created a focal point and added texture to the arrangements which also included large clusters of antique hydrangea, wispy white spray roses, Quicksand and pink Mondial roses, as well as Privet Berries, Pepperberry Greens and Italian ruscus.
Lauren carried a stunning, unique, bridal bouquet of King Protea, cymbidium orchids, black scabiosa, white anemones with dark centers, Quicksand and Heart roses with seeded eucalyptus, hanging green amaranthus and privet berry. This was the perfect accent to her luxurious full ballgown with long illusion and lace applique sleeves.
Their Tampa wedding continued with the reception hosted at the iconic Armature Works at the Heights Public Market. The expansive event space with industrial brick walls, original wood floors and exposed ironwork named The Gathering was an incredible backdrop for this couple’s gathering of family and friends.
The center of the 10,000 square foot space was anchored with a double sided lounge area combining vintage hunter green loveseats, modern geometric metallic coffee tables, wooden benches and sofa tables with towering gold urns topped with rustic wooden crossbeams. These rustic trellis inspired structures were wrapped in grapevine and dotted with antique hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus and clusters of spray roses in pink, cream and burgundy.
The room was filled with tables draped in soft shimmering linen and gold candles. Tall urns in metallic tones created a waterfall of color with lush florals in burgundy, pale pink and greenery.
The enormous floral chandeliers dangled above a head table set for sixteen. A living plant wall created a soft contrasting background to the exposed brick walls. The tablescape flowed with small metallic vessels of monochromatic clusters of spray roses with candles in contemporary glass containers and gold tone votive cups as accents.
Large asymmetrical arrangements bursting with magnolia leaves, hanging burgundy amaranthus and touches of cream, soft pink and deep rich burgundy anchored the ends of the head table.
Our Tailored Twig design team loved working with Lauren, Grymes and a talented team of wedding professionals to create this unique wedding experience.
Congratulations Lauren and Grymes!

Tailored Twig had the opportunity to once again work at the spectacular Ringling on the banks of Sarasota Bay.
Kenzie and Max’s wedding took full advantage of this magnificent, sprawling estate that can host events in several unique locations.
Their waterfront wedding ceremony was hosted on the terrace of the Ca’ d’Zan Mansion where the couple exchanged their wedding vows just steps from the mansions boat dock.
With the sun setting on Sarasota Bay a simple elegant hedge wall of lush white and green botanicals, snapdragons, white veronica and white delphinium added height and texture to this organic focal point.
Ghost chairs lined the terrace showcasing the beautiful natural materials and stonework. Accents of white florals, greenery and soft cream-colored pillar candles in glass cylinders appeared to float down the aisle.
Kenzie’s lush hand-tied bridal bouquet of white peonies, garden roses, white veronica, soft creamy Quicksand roses, lisianthus, dusty miller and olive branches accented the sweetheart neckline of her wedding gown’s lace bodice.
After the wedding ceremony and cocktails on the mansion’s terrace, guests were transported across the property to the Ringling Museum Courtyard for dinner and dancing.
A waterfall of twinkling lights danced above several long, clear tables with acrylic ghost chairs. Long, low centerpieces of white and soft greenery crept the length of the tables; dotted with candles they appeared to float along the tables.
The center tables were surrounded by a mix of round and rectangular guest tables draped in pale pink with sparkling votive candles. Tall centerpieces anchored each end of the long tables with smaller vessels of soft white flowers and votive candles dotted the tablescape. The round tables each held a simple, elegant centerpiece of flowers in shades of cream, white and soft greenery each one adding interest with unique textures.
Crystal chandeliers hanging from the trees and clear glass elements paired with soft white flowers created a luxurious outdoor reception under the stars.
We wish Kenzie and Max a lifetime of happiness; our Tailored Twig design team was thrilled to be part of your wedding day.

Our Tailored Twig design team loved partnering with the planners at Jennifer Matteo Event Planning for Christian and Robb’s Sarasota wedding at the Ringling Museum.
The rich pink hues of this wedding design paired perfectly with the deep rich tones of the bougainvillea that surrounded the outdoor wedding venue.
Our floral creations began with Christian’s full, lush bridal bouquet. This hand tied bouquet was wrapped in white lace to pair with her wedding gown. An assortment of large full roses including deep hot pink, white “Eskimo”, and light pink “Ester” roses blended with the textures of the pink Veronica, tropical ginger, ivy and seeded eucalyptus.
The bridesmaids were dressed in brilliant deep raspberry gowns and carried stem wrapped bouquets of roses in softer shades of pink and white that complimented the tones of the groomsmen’s elegant boutonnieres.
The outdoor wedding ceremony at dusk was held under a simple wooden arch wrapped in a thick, lush garland of greens washed in a soft light to accent the couple as they exchanged their wedding vows.
The lawn of the Ringling Museum was filled with round tables draped in clean crisp white linens. The focal points were unique metallic toned vessels bursting with tropical ginger, Queen Anne’s Lace, ranunculus in shades of pink and light peach as well as pink and white spray roses.
Gold chiavari chairs, clear table numbers with gold rims and gold charger added a little shimmer to play with the rich pink tones.
A four-tiered modern wedding cake was brushed in gold leaf and shades of pink with a cascade of simple pink spray roses and ivy tips.
Congratulations Christian and Robb, our Tailored Twig team was thrilled to be part of your luxurious Sarasota destination wedding.
