A Discussion of Details
Earlier this summer, the world-famous distiller of gin, Hendrick’s released Midsummer Solstice, a small batch limited edition gin.
Our Tailored Twig floral design team was excited to pair with Sarasota event planner Jennifer Matteo to produce an amazing private local event celebrating this unconventional release featuring floral essence chosen to enhance their signature gin.
Sage, an eclectic dining and event space in Sarasota hosted this amazing event. The Mediterranean style building was the original home of the Sarasota Times newspaper.
Guests entered the third-floor private event space through vintage wrought iron gates adorned with vines and brightly colored roses and blooms in shades pink, cream and green.
Parasols hung from the entranceway celling leading to a vintage bicycle cart overflowing with a blanket of roses in a palette of pink. Organic spheres, resembling hot air balloons floated above the space carrying bottles of Hendrick’s Gin.
A living plant wall draped with orchids welcomed and surprised guests with white gloved hands delivering signature cocktails, while women in vintage costumes embellished with fresh flowers entertained the guests.
A tall bronze toned vessel with a cascade of hot pink roses, peach garden roses, hydrangea, thistle and eucalyptus at one end of the bar showcased the amethyst colored bottle of Midsummer Solstice Gin.
A craft cocktail specialist served unique creations including a “Magic Carpet Ride” made with Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice Gin, Jasmine Tea Syrup, lemon Juice, Hibiscus Syrup, and Ginger Bitters.
Cocktail tables were draped in bold floral linen with delicate arrangements of Marianne anemone and soft pink roses in copper and matte black vessels.
Food stations including charcuterie, and platters of tuna tartare, and vegetable and pork empanadas were displayed with wooden gin boxes filled with beautiful full white peonies, pink roses and Italian miniature variegated pitt.
A floral clad maiden bathed in a copper bathtub filled with sweetly scented rose petals next to a display of vintage steamer trunks, drift wood and tall arrangements of pink roses, pincushion protea, veronica, and uniquely textured organic elements.
This display divided the room which lead into an area with lounge seating and a table with several large metal vessels of varying sizes filled with roses in a color story of every shade of pink.
Upstairs, the covered rooftop lounge, with 360 degree views of downtown Sarasota was set with unique containers containing flowers in the colors of a brilliant sunset, with bagpipers and drummers bringing a touch of Scotland to the event.
'Thank you to FiftyFlowers who donated a portion of the flowers and to all of the professionals who were part of this amazing collaboration.
