A Discussion of Details
Our Tailored Twig design team loves secrets! Truthfully, we work with couples who add special surprises to their wedding day, companies planning product launches; as well as creations for editorial photos for future ad campaigns. So we have a lot of practice at keeping secrets. This one is a little different in that we were invited to be part of a collaboration for a styled shoot at Sarasota’s incredibly exclusive Waterworks. The Waterworks is a private membership social and business club combining the old with the new, catering to high-end clientele. The amazing building, on the National Register of Historic Places since 1984, the two-story red brick building in downtown Sarasota was designed in 1926 and utilized as the city’s waterworks station. Because of the very exclusive nature of the Waterworks, our Tailored Twig team waited on approval of all of the images; showing incredible wedding details and tiny glimpses of the rustic, industrial interior. Balancing beautiful red brick, industrial windows, black metal and clean lines was the perfect opportunity to create uniquely textured, hand tailored, one of a kind elements The setting was perfect for this modern, single specimen bridal bouquet incorporating striking White Queen Protea and a wide organic, natural fiber ribbon. The curves and colors of the blooms entwined with the darker ribbon with its stiff texture popped against the bride’s modern lace wedding gown with plunging neckline. One of our favorite creations is this stunning straight line bridal bouquet. With gnarled wood at its base this bouquet winds featherlight leaves with the soft textures of hanging green amaranthus and uses the diverse textures and subtle differences in the colors of Phalaenopsis Orchids, Duchess White Peonies and White Queen Protea. We especially love the way it stands out against the smooth texture of the satin organza ballgown. Two other standout bouquets play in stark contrast to each other. A dark moody modern creation combines unique colors and textures of Dark Purple Calla Lilies, Red Hot Anthurium, bright pink Cymbidium Orchids and Fiddlehead Ferns with a rustic textured satin wrap and palm bark. This is an amazing contrast to this soft, delicate white stem wrapped bouquet. The soft feathery edges of the wrap set the tone for the full soft creamy white roses with ruffled edges, paired with Duchess White Peonies, soft green vine tendrils and soft green thistle. Our Tailored Twig team was sure not to leave the guys out creating magnificent, textured boutonnieres. Each incorporated elements of one of the bouquets with the addition of unique botanicals, metallic wraps and unique accents to make them a one of a kind and unique as each groom. We also had the opportunity to fill some of the Waterworks spaces with amazing floral details that complimented each portion of the styled shoot. From bold colored contemporary ceremony creations to vessels filled with soft green and white tones to pair with rustic tablescapes. Filling the black metal, industrial staircase with cascading vines and accent arrangements in shades of green and white continued the color story, added dimension to the stark industrial surfaces and brought the outside indoors. Our Tailored Twig design team is thrilled to be part of this amazing collaboration and to be able to share a sneak peek into this never before photographed setting. We cannot wait for the opportunity to work with some of the Sarasota Waterworks members to design one of a kind creations for their wedding or upcoming event. Thank you to the amazing professionals we had the pleasure to work with.
