A Discussion of Details
Our Tailored Twig design team recently worked with creative brand consultant, Jenny and her husband-to-be Jeff on their beautiful downtown Tampa wedding at the Oxford Exchange. This elegant wedding was a destination wedding for nearly all of the Guests. Everyone who attended was family or a close friend who had known either the bride or the groom practically their entire lives. Jenny accented her incredible, form fitting modern lace wedding gown with a hand tailored, monochromatic bridal bouquet. This all white accessory of Eskimo roses, white ranunculus, astilbe and stock was simple, elegant and set the design tone for the rest of the wedding. An elegant round wooden table in The Shop at the Oxford Exchange was filled with wedding photos from both of the couple’s families. Jenny provided several blue patterned ginger jars which our Tailored Twig design team filled with soft white hydrangea. Jenny and Jeff’s traditional Jewish wedding ceremony was held in in the Oxford Exchange’s Atrium. Textured white brick walls are covered with climbing greenery in a zig zag pattern accenting the stark walls. An antique dark wood carved table accented the space. Bud vases of Venetian style blown glass filled with delicate white flowers dotted the table where the couple would sign their custom designed ketubah. Jenny and Jeff exchanged their wedding vows under a simple chuppah of four birchwood branches, held by special people in their lives, attached to a traditional tallit. Tall gold toned vessels overflowing with white hydrangea flanked the ceremony table and chuppah. Following the wedding ceremony guests made their way just outside of the atrium for the cocktail reception. The dark wood space with an L shaped built in bar, eclectic décor and sweeping staircase made the perfect space for guests to mingle. Bistro tables draped in soft white floor length linen were accented with bud vases and votive candles. Back inside The Atrium, Jenny and Jeff took some time for wedding portraits before the ceremony space was transformed for dinner. The white stone fountain, tall gold vessels filled with white hydrangea and towering trees created a backdrop for chic magazine worthy wedding portraits. The Atrium was quickly transformed for the couple’s wedding reception. The tall gold vessels filled with hydrangea and the blown glass bud vases with delicate floral blooms filled sleek rectangular tables. Black cross back chairs, gold charger plates and candles in antique glass votive cups set against the white brick backdrop created a modern design. After an evening of dinner and dancing, the couple cut their two-tiered white buttercream wedding cake, which our Tailored Twig team accented with a white spray roses. Congratulation Jenny and Jeff! Thank you to Tara Tomlinson Photography for sharing these amazing photos.

It was such a pleasure for our Tailored Twig team to work with Vanessa and Ted. Not only are they thoughtful, kind and fun-loving, but in addition to floral design and décor Tailored Twig did the wedding planning as well. Creating a blog post for their wedding was incredibly difficult as we could have included hundreds of photos of this amazing couple. Vanessa wore a soft white silk satin wedding gown with simple bow detail at the waist and a long flowing veil embroidered with a floral motif. Her bridal bouquet was an explosion of bright colors with peonies in pink and peach, snapdragons and bright yellow craspedia, giving a light garden feel Under Vanessa’s gown were these bright yellow shoes; the yellow is in honor of her late father and an accent color found throughout the wedding design. Vanessa’s wedding party wore lavender and lilac gowns accompanied by bouquets similar to the bride’s in slightly softer tones. Not to be overlooked, Ted looked very handsome in his dark suit accented with a boutonniere of bright yellow craspedia with an air plant to add some texture. A lavender hemstitched pocket square and bow tie in shades of purple and blue completed the look. Vanessa smiled ear to ear as she made her way down the aisle escorted by her stepfather. The elegant chapel with vaulted ceilings and dark wood pews was dressed with nosegays in peach, yellow and soft greenery with satin bows. After the intimate wedding ceremony, wedding guests had the opportunity to explore the town on a trolley ride while Vanessa and Ted spent some time together taking photographs. The pre-reception on the resort’s waterfront Lodge Event Lawn was hosted under a canopy of Edison lights and tables were draped in bright yellow and yellow patterned geometric linens. Tablescapes included geometric cold vessels with brightly colored florals and votive candles in gold cups. The centerpiece of the reception was a spectacular seating chart, an oversized white modern frame with a swag of pink flowers and greenery. In the center hung an acrylic panel with hand-lettered seating arrangements. The tented wedding reception under a billowing canopy of fabric was an incredible mixture of colors and textures. Rustic chandeliers cradled in greenery hung above a parquet dance floor, surrounded by wooden farmhouse tables and French county chairs that added a grounding element to the design. Long wooden tables were layered with yellow textured table runners in a bold pattern with brushed gold vessels filled with blooms in pink, peach and yellow. Round tables were draped in a softer yellow geometric pattern and dressed with tall brushed gold urns overflowing with peonies, roses, snapdragons, and greenery in a brilliant assortment of colors. Glass charger plates in deep rich tones with custom menu cards, antique glass votives and napkins with a touch of greenery connected the two designs. A lounge area with an emerald velvet sofa, a mahogany coffee table, and gold end tables added a place to relax away from the dance floor. Wedding guests danced and dined on a signature salad of Farm Fresh Greens, Goat Cheese, Poached Pears, Sunflower Seeds, Dried Cranberries, and Hammock Beach Vinaigrette. A duet entrée of Petit Filet Mignon & Sea Scallops, with Roasted Fingerlings, Carrot Curls, Citrus Gremolata, Sweet Butter followed. Vanessa and Ted ended their evening by cutting this show-stopping three-tiered wedding cake in the colors of the sunset accented by fresh blooms. Congratulations Vanessa and Ted, we wish you a lifetime filled with as many smiles as you had on your wedding day. Thank you to the amazng creative team who brought this day together.

This incredible, historic Tampa wedding venue features sweeping wooden staircases, bold black and white checked floors, exposed brick and impactful artwork. Designing wedding décor for this very busy space requires finesse and intricate details to capture your attention. We began with a color story that included subtle white details, touches of greenery and then antique pink and dusty rose to draw your eye. Our team began with Shelly’s hand tailored bridal bouquet. Her elegant, long sleeve wedding gown had very few embellishments and her bouquet was the perfect accessory. Seeded eucalyptus, pepper berry greens and rosemary created a cascading, textural backdrop for the quicksand and amnesia roses with their various shades of antique pink. Pink astible added softness and lighter tones along with anemone and white scabiosa. The dark centers in the anemone and the deep burgundy tones of the black scabiosa incorporated some boldness. Robert’s boutonniere was a single bloom of Marianne Anemone. It’s size, bright white color and deep black center paired well with his classic tuxedo with black satin shawl collar. The ladies in the wedding party carried a smaller hand tied version of Shelly’s bouquet with the roses pairing with the pink in the bridesmaid’s dresses. The gentleman wore very masculine green thistle boutonnieres that balanced the dusty rose in their neckties and pocket square. On the venue’s entry table was a gold metallic trumpet shaped vessel overflowed with green thistle and Italian ruscus dotted with the black and white anemone, pink roses and deep burgundy scabiosa. The vessel was the perfect size and coloring to break up the sight lines in the busy space filled with eclectic details. Shelly and Robert’s wedding ceremony was set against the backdrop of the venue’s sunlit Atrium. Soft pink fabric draped in a crisscross pattern played off the bold floor, contemporary black chairs and exposed brick to draw your eye toward the couple as they exchanged their wedding vows. Clusters of chunky cream-colored pillar candles were set into arrangements of green thistle and Italian ruscus. These groupings dotted the aisle adding texture and a pop of brightness against the black and white marble tile floors. Incorporating the right focal points, and adding touches of color and texture to make a design pop were just the accents needed for a very visually stimulating event space. Congratulations Shelly and Robert!

Our Tailored Twig design team had an awesome time working with an incredibly talented team to create this event. The Renaissance International Plaza Hotel in Tampa was the perfect location to create this fabulous birthday party. This event was every adult's dream, with a vintage VW Photo Bus, Space Invaders, Whack-A-Mole, Skee Ball, an outstanding band, fun food stations, gelato and coffee carts, and an internationally known comedian Our Tailored Twig team set the stage, creating beautiful design elements in every corner of the ballroom. Over a dozen round and rectangular dining tables surrounded the stage and dancefloor. Each of these wooden dining tables had a unique tablescape that incorporated spectacular organic elements. Driftwood, palm fronds, and antlers set the foundation for floral creations in shades of cream and green. Antique hydrangea, green dianthus, anthurium and viburnum berries mixed with ornamental white kale, creamy white roses, white star of Bethlehem and polar star roses. Fiddlehead fern shoots, feathers, vine spheres, and chunky candles added texture to the creations. The tables were layered with glass charger plates with gold beaded edges, gold-rimmed glasses and vintage amber glass goblets completed the elegant tablescapes. Black wire cocktail tables with wooden tops were intermixed with overstuffed furniture to create lounge areas. Smaller arrangements, incorporating the same natural elements, were designed using textured concrete and gunmetal vessels and surrounded by shimmering votive candles. Accent pillows and faux fur throws added pops of color, texture, and warmth to the lounge areas. And, a birthday is not a birthday without a cake. An amazing three-tiered cake anchored the entrance to the ballroom. This moss-colored "tree stump" cake with Debbie and John's names carved in it towered above the room. The display was a forest of vines, Spanish moss, textured greenery, and clusters of blooms found thought the room. Guests dined, danced the night away, played games and were entertained by the amazing Jim Gaffigan. Debbie and John's birthday will be a party no one will soon forget. This amazing, exclusive beach club is located on the white sand beaches of Lido Key, just three miles from the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. Our editorial photo shoot showcased a chic bohemian wedding reception overlooking the sunsets on Gulf of Mexico. The Ritz-Carlton’s private beach and expansive porch of Ridley’s Porch offered spectacular views. The luxurious sweetheart table was nestled in the white sand and rested on a textured natural fiber mat. The spectacular antique mirrored table and oversized gold trimmed arm chair sat under a crystal chandelier hanging from a canopy of texture, color and natural elements. The cantilever structure was combination of hard rustic elements such as driftwood paired with soft antique hydrangea, and brightly colored orange, blush and cream roses. Banksia foliage, green anthurium and ornamental cabbage added depth and texture to the creation. The table overflowed with chunky pillar candles, and collections of reflective metallic vessels with clusters of colorful blooms and textual elements. The outdoor spaces of Ridley’s Porch, named for the Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle, one of the smallest and rarest sea turtles; continued the luxurious wedding design. Incredible hanging arrangements were suspended at either end of the porch, flanking three long antique mirrored tables and soft tufted benches. Above the center table floated a magnificent floral chandelier. Our design team created a base of lush greenery accented with the zig zag textures of banksia foliage. The banksia blooms, long pointed veronica, anthurium and fiddle head ferns were incorporated into the softer textures of colorful roses and hydrangea. The mirrored tabletop reflected the stunning floral chandelier above and were dressed with antique gold rimmed charger plates, patterned napkins, gold flatware and vintage pressed glass. Some of the resorts signature craft cocktails completed the place settings and paired with the champagne and blush tones in the floral creations. The center of the tables were lined with footed garden vessels that continued the brightly colored and textural botanicals into the tablescape accented with chunky pillar candles and vintage glass votives. Our incredible bohemian bride in a sheer shimmering wedding gown with light flowing overlay carried a one of a kind, hand tailored asymmetric bouquet. This spectacular design incorporated both large dome shaped banksia blooms and the long saw-toothed foliage along with curling fiddlehead ferns. Full lush orange roses and soft pink garden roses brought softness and color to the bouquet.
